Luannan Leting Drum
Leting Dagu originated in Luanzhou (Luannan County was originally part of Luanzhou, now Luan County) and Leting countryside around 1845. It draws on the strengths of various traditional storytelling arts, and absorbs some of the singing styles of local folk songs and operas, forming a unique singing style and style, using local accents to tell stories, accompanied by three-stringed instruments, iron plates, and drums. In 1845, Feng Fuchang (Feng Tieban), a native of Luannan, abandoned wooden boards and used iron plates to beat the rhythm and accompany singing, which updated the singing style and style. Leting Dagu became famous, and Feng Fuchang became an important founder of Leting Dagu. The people of Luannan in the history of the development of Leting Dagu are a complete history of the development of Leting Dagu. Wang Deyou, Qi Dewang, Yang Jiuchang, Liu Taishan, Shen Wenzhang, Zhang Zishan and other older generation Luannan Leting Dagu art masters have made outstanding contributions to the development of Leting Dagu and laid the foundation for the formation of the Jin School of Leting Dagu. In 1930, Jin Wenran entered the world of opera. After having studied under famous teachers, he worked hard and learned from famous masters to create the Jin style of singing. In the late 1940s, he completed the major innovation from the Lianqu style to the Banqiang style, forming the Jin style of singing that has dominated the Jidong opera world to this day. Leting drum spread quickly, first in the Jidong area, and then to Beijing, Tianjin, and the three provinces of Northeast China. After 1949, famous drum book artists from Luannan, such as Hu Shaolan, Chen Wenhuan, Zheng Qingxian, Jin Wenran, Qi Wenfeng, Yang Laifeng, Tong Wenbin, and Zhang Heyuan, gathered in Tangshan to compete with each other, and Leting drum entered the glorious period of Jin style art. The Jin style Leting drum art has a strong melodic style, is melodious and full of emotion; it breaks through the traditional "banqibanluo" singing method, completes the important reform from the linked song body to the banqiang body, and skillfully uses flexible and changeable new singing methods such as slow board and grab board; it boldly absorbs the nutrition of sister arts and pushes the Leting drum art to a new peak, which has not declined to this day. The Luannan County Government erected a monument and a bronze statue of Mr. Jin Wenran in the Ancient City Cultural Square of Luannan County. The Jin style Leting drum art has become an indispensable spiritual and cultural feast for the people of Luannan, affecting the development of politics, economy and culture, and promoting the development and progress of social undertakings.
