For hundreds of years, especially in the past 100 years, the people of all ethnic groups in Zhenhaikou, eastern Zhejiang, located at the forefront of my country's thousands of miles of sea borders, have left many popular and moving legends and stories in the struggle to defend the sacred territory of the motherland and fight back against foreign invaders. The Zhenhaikou coastal defense history is a precious record of these legends and stories. The history of Zhenhaikou's coastal defense has a long history. From the current collection situation, the generation, spread and evolution of Zhenhaikou's coastal defense history can be traced back to the anti-Japanese struggle in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, followed by the anti-British and anti-French struggles in the Qing Dynasty, and the Anti-Japanese War during the Republic of China. Until now, it is still familiar and talked about by many Zhenhai people. It is even more well-known to the tour guides or students in the "Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense History Memorial Hall" and local middle and primary schools. The historical stories of Zhenhaikou's coastal defense are widely spread in the Zhoushan Islands, Yinzhou, Xiangshan, Cixi, Ninghai, Fenghua, Yuyao and the three old districts of Ningbo, in addition to the original Zhenhai County (including the current Zhenhai and Beilun Districts). At the same time, they are also spread in Taizhou. The historical stories of Zhenhaikou's coastal defense mainly include: the legends and stories of Qi Jiguang and Yu Dayou's resistance against the Japanese in Zhenhai; the legends and stories of Lin Zexu, Yu Qian, Ge Yunfei and other three generals of Dinghai's resistance against the British in Zhenhai; the legends and stories of Wu Jie, Ouyang Lijian, Liu Bingzhang, Xue Fucheng and others' resistance against the French in Zhenhai; the legends and stories of our army and our party's underground armed resistance against Japan. This legend and story has the characteristics of historicity, justice, regionality, folk, legendary and oral. After 1980, amateurs organized by the then Zhenhai County Cultural Center have collected and compiled more than 50 related works, and published more than 30 articles in newspapers and periodicals at all levels across the country, including "Blood in the Great Pass" and "Heroic Souls of Jiajiang River". The "Zhenhaikou Historical Memorial Hall" is the main dissemination base, and the guides tell these stories to visitors.
