Zhaobao Mountain, standing on the north bank of the Yongjiang River, is not high, only more than 80 meters, and not large, about 30 hectares. However, it is located on the river and controls the sea, and its situation is dangerous. It has been a famous coastal defense pass on my country's thousands of miles of coastline and one of the famous scenic spots on the coast of eastern Zhejiang since ancient times. Chen Yunping, a Song Dynasty poet, once wrote a poem lamenting Zhaobao Mountain: "When the universe was first created, what god established this mountain, the pillar stone in the middle of the stream, the gate of the earth and the sea." Yu Dayou, a hero who fought against Japanese pirates in the Ming Dynasty, directly said that it was "a thousand-year-old jade pass"! Not only that, for thousands of years, within the two or three square kilometers around the small Zhaobao Mountain, many moving legends and stories about Zhaobao Mountain have been widely circulated among the people. These legends and stories show the profound cultural heritage and long cultural inheritance of Zhaobao Mountain, making the charm and splendor of Zhaobao Mountain more spectacular.
