Baozili (locally pronounced bǔ) is the common name of Zhangjiakou Bao. Zhangjiakou Bao is the earliest castle in Zhangjiakou city, the "origin" and "root" of Zhangjiakou city. According to historical records, Baozili was built during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of nearly 600 years. According to the survey of Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City, there are more than 700 cultural relics and historical sites in Baozili, including 93 valuable key courtyards. It is one of the most complete Ming and Qing architectural castles in large and medium-sized cities in the country. It can be called the Northern Folk House Museum and is known as the "Ming and Qing Architecture Museum". However, despite this, Baozili, which has important historical and cultural value, has been difficult for outsiders to know. It was not until 2008 that Baozili was rated as a provincial protected unit. In recent years, the process of protection and development has accelerated, and in 2013 it was successfully approved as the seventh batch of national cultural relics protection units.

Philosophy related to the heritage

Interpretation from the perspective of Eastern philosophy: In Eastern philosophy, scenic spots are often regarded as the embodiment of the harmonious coexistence of nature and humanity, and the embodiment of the three talents of heaven, earth and man. Take the Wuyuezhai scenic area as an example. Its magnificent mountains and rivers, surrounded by clouds and mist, not only show the uncanny workmanship of nature, but also imply the Taoist concept of "Tao follows nature". Every landscape in the mountain, such as strange peaks, secluded valleys, and waterfalls, can be regarded as the manifestation of the way of nature, reminding people to follow nature and pursue inner peace and tranquility. At the same time, the cultural landscape in the scenic area, such as monuments and inscriptions, embodies the Confucian idea of "the benevolent enjoy mountains, the wise enjoy water", and encourages people to find wisdom and virtue in nature. Interpretation from the perspective of Western philosophy: From the perspective of Western philosophy, scenic spots such as the Wuyuezhai scenic area can be regarded as the pursuit of beauty and philosophical thinking about nature. In Western aesthetics, natural landscapes are regarded as the source of beauty. The magnificent scenery of Wuyuezhai inspires people's perception and appreciation of beauty, reflecting Kant's aesthetic view that beauty is subjective but universal. At the same time, from the perspective of existentialism, people seek themselves in nature and experience existence. The exploration and challenges of Wuyue Village allow people to face the power of nature and think about the meaning of life and the value of existence. In addition, from the perspective of ecological philosophy, the protection and development of Wuyue Village has also triggered deep thinking about the relationship between man and nature. How to achieve sustainable development while enjoying the beauty of nature is an important issue in modern philosophy. Interpretation of the integration of Eastern philosophy and Western philosophy: In the Wuyue Village scenic area, the integration of Eastern philosophy and Western philosophy is reflected in the awe of nature and the pursuit of beauty. The "unity of man and nature" in the East and the "beauty of nature" in the West jointly guide people to find the home of the soul in nature and experience the true meaning of life. Whether it is the "Tao follows nature" in the East or the "beauty is the brilliance of truth" in the West, Wuyue Village provides a platform for people to think about the profound connection between life, nature and the universe in the embrace of nature, and realize the sublimation of the soul and the enlightenment of wisdom.
