Although Xi Opera originated in Wuxi, it once absorbed a lot of tunes from Suzhou Tanhuang during its formation. In terms of its vocal style, it can be called "sister drama" with Suzhou local opera Su Opera. Therefore, it is popular in Suzhou area and is called "Suxi Opera". Suxi Opera can even be sung in Suzhou dialect. Many tunes and tunes of Suzhou Tanhuang are still retained in the contemporary Xi Opera singing, such as Xiansuo Tune, Taiping Tune, Mihun Tune, Chen Tune and Chai Tune. Xiju has long been nurtured by Suzhou's humanities and has a close cultural relationship with Suzhou.
