Tianxilou was originally named Tianxiyong and is located in Qiaozikou. It was founded by eight Hui Muslim brothers, Ma Jianxing and Ma Jianxun, in the first year of the Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644). The name of the store was written by Empress Dowager Cixi. The main halal dishes include sea cucumber with green onion, sea cucumber with chicken and rice, sea cucumber with shrimp, braised sea cucumber, three meat dishes, three vegetarian dishes, 108 kinds of whole lamb banquet, rolling beads (lamb eyes), Baicaoguan (lamb throat eyes), Baichangcao (lamb tongue), Dengyunti (lamb hooves), braised cloud head (lamb brain), shabu-shabu mutton, roast duck, roast whole lamb, braised chicken, and duck with Job's tears. During the Republic of China period, it received important figures such as Chiang Kai-shek, Yang Hucheng, Zhang Fenghui, and Ma Hongkui. After the 1950s, it became a snack bar.
