Wenqin, formerly known as Yangqin, is named after the Yangqin as the main accompaniment instrument. It is also called Guizhou Qinshu and Guizhou Tanci. It is now mainly spread in Qianxi County, Guizhou and Wudang District, Guiyang City. In the autumn of 1952, the play friends tried to put the sitting and singing Guizhou Qinshu on the stage and succeeded. In order to commemorate the contribution of the "Wenyin Club" in the late Qing Dynasty to the development of Guizhou Qinshu, it was named "Wenqin Opera". According to the article "Preliminary Study on Guizhou Opera", Yangqin came from Yangzhou. The introduction of Yangqin to Qianxi was related to Li Shijie, a Qianxi native and the Minister of War, who retired and returned to his hometown in the 55th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. According to "The History of Guizhou Opera", Yangqin was introduced to Guizhou around the end of the 18th century during the Qianlong and Jiaqing years of the Qing Dynasty. At first, it was only popular among scholars and literati, and was called "the music of literati and scholars". In the ninth year of Guangxu, the "Three Friends Club" appeared in Guiyang, and in the eleventh year, the "Wenyin Club" was established in Qianxi. From then on, Yangqin gradually became "the music of the market". After the yangqin was introduced to Guizhou, it absorbed the music and singing styles of local operas, forming a local opera with a unique style, which had the prototype of Qian Opera. In 1956, the first Wenqin Opera Troupe in Guizhou was established in Qianxi. Wenqin Opera is a form of folk art and opera with local characteristics of Guizhou. It is an indoor folk art sitting singing. It inherits the drum lyrics, tanci, and treasure scrolls of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It follows the literary form of seven-character and cross-parallel couplets of Yuan and Ming Cihua. It has both civil and martial music. Different from the third-person narrative method used in general folk art to describe characters and stories, it is a clown lyrics, mainly in the first-person spokesperson. The qin book singing body is a kind of rap literature that is interwoven with two styles of rhyme and prose. At the end of each song, the third person or the singer sings the "four sentences" in a narrative tone, or explains it as a conclusion. The singing style includes the "Yangdiao", "Erban" and "Sanban" in the traditional tunes, and the music form used together with the Lianquti and Banqiangti. When playing the accompaniment, "let the words follow the tunes", and use the Wenqin to accompany the singers' soft voices, so that the singers can "show their words". When Wenqin Opera, a form of folk art, first entered Guizhou, the tunes were only "Yangdiao (Yuediao)", "Erban" and "Sanban", known as the old three tunes, and the accompaniment instrument was only the yangqin. After several generations of development by Wenqin players, they absorbed Guizhou local operas and other operas and folk music, blended and changed, and created Erhuang Yizi, Erliu and other banqiang, providing an infinitely rich source of tunes for banqiang music. At the same time, more than 30 tunes such as Manjianghong, Suonanzhi, Sipingqiang, Qingpingdiao, Dengdiao, Banbianyue, Daoqing, etc. were used, forming a special musical singing form that uses both the banqiang body and the linked qu body. Moreover, the accompaniment instruments are not limited to the yangqin, but also include Yueqin, Erhu, Pipa, Xiao, Di, Sheng, Drum, etc. The promotion of the single Qinshu art laid the foundation for the stageing of Wenqin Opera and the formation of Qian Opera. Wenqin Opera has both civil and martial music, not only the qin (yangqin), but also drums. The activities of Qianxi Wenqin Opera are: gathering together to play and sing, entertaining oneself. Congratulations and celebrations, entertaining others and oneself. Festivals and temple fairs, forming teams. Family play and singing, family entertainment. It is the only local opera in Guizhou. It is rooted in the history and culture of Qianxi, plays a role in confirming cultural identity, and fills the gap of Guizhou without local opera. It is different from other forms of folk art, and is different from Beijing Qinshu, Shandong Qinshu, Sichuan Yangqin, Yunnan Yangqin, Enshi Qinshu, Wuxiang Qinshu, Xuzhou Qinshu, and Yicheng Qinshu. It has unique Guizhou characteristics. Wenqin Opera has lyrical and delicate singing and elegant and beautiful melody. Since 2001, Wenqin Opera has re-emerged in Chengguan District, Linquan, Supu and other towns in Qianxi, but it is still on the verge of extinction. In the process of modernization, due to the impact of strong culture, the place of Wenqin Opera has gradually declined. Now there are only a handful of artists who are proficient in basic tunes and commonly used minor tunes, tunes and traditional accompaniment methods, and they are old. There are very few young people who are interested in learning opera. Once several old people pass away, the art will be lost and face the risk of being lost. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
