Pizhou Yangqin Opera
Pizhou Yangqin Opera is a traditional drama project in the second batch of representative projects of Xuzhou's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Pizhou Yangqin Opera evolved from "silk strings", "yangqin" and "qin books", and it originated from the Ming Dynasty ditty. Pizhou Yangqin Opera was originally a single-file or double-file, and gradually evolved into a multi-person group singing form after the end of the Qing Dynasty. The singers put on makeup and costumes, and play roles according to the storyline of the libretto. They mainly sing, supplemented by dance movements, jumping in and out, which is lively and lively, and is deeply loved by the audience. Pizhou Yangqin Opera emphasizes narration and singing. There are no rigid regulations for the performance movements of Yangqin Opera. The main focus is on hands, eyes, body, method, and steps. The hands and spirit, eyes and words should be in place. The performance movements should not be too large, and the body should be upright, not crooked or crooked, and the head should not be shrunk or raised. The actors should cooperate with each other. The dialogue, duet, and duet should be compact, seamless, integrated, and natural. The actors play the roles of men, women, old, young, officials, civilians, crazy, stupid, deaf, and dumb according to the plot. In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, Yangqin Opera formed a board-acoustic music with "Fengyang Song" and "Duozi Ban" as the main tunes, which continues to this day. Yangqin Opera has a simple board style and limited tunes, but limited tunes can express unlimited content, which is a prominent feature of Pizhou Yangqin Opera music. Artists can easily perform emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, worry, and sadness through changes in singing and rhythm. Four-sentence tunes are the main music of Pizhou Yangqin Opera. The tunes are gentle and melodious, and are well-balanced. The first sentence ends at 2, sometimes 3 or 1, the second sentence ends at 1 or 5, the third sentence ends at 6, and the fourth sentence must end at 5. There are also short interludes and interludes after each sentence, and the last sentence interlude is longer. During the singing process, Pizhou Yangqin Opera is divided into two schools according to the inheritance relationship, also known as "Wenshu" and "Wushu". The southern part of Pizhou mostly sings "Wen" books, such as public cases, with clear words and beautiful language, and delicate emotions; the northern part of Pizhou is influenced by the big drum and mostly sings "Wu" books, such as Tieqi, with rough language and bold emotions.
