Pingle Guo's bone-setting technique originated from Pingle Village, Luoyang City, Henan Province. Shenzhen Pingle bone-setting is an important branch of this traditional school. Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital is located in Luohu District, Shenzhen. Since Guo's ancestors founded Guo's bone-setting technique in the first year of Jiajing in the Qing Dynasty (1796), the following generations of descendants have adhered to the ancestral teachings and devoted themselves to the development and innovation of Chinese orthopedic medicine, making Pingle bone-setting, which has a long history, rise from a simple medical skill to cure diseases and save lives to Chinese orthopedic science that benefits mankind. In 1985, the fifth-generation descendant, former director of Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital, Guo Chunyuan, led his disciples and students to Shenzhen, the forefront of my country's reform and opening up, and founded Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital. "Pingle Guo's Bone-setting Method" and "A New Bone-setting Method for World Doctors" written by Guo Chunyuan in 1959 and 2001 respectively are the most theoretically advanced and guiding orthopedic medical monographs among the fifth and sixth generations of Guo's descendants. Guo Chunyuan not only vigorously developed and spread Pingle bone-setting medical skills, but also had noble medical ethics and was respected as a "great doctor". Guo Chunyuan and his disciples and students have treated millions of orthopedic patients in Shenzhen for 20 years. Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital and the medical institutions and clinics where Guo's descendants are located have become bone injury diagnosis and treatment centers for about 30 million people in Shenzhen, the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao. Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Medical Skills have become an important orthopedic school recognized by the domestic industry with distinctive characteristics, rich connotations, systematic theories, unique efficacy, and leading technology. It has received extensive attention from medical colleagues at home and abroad and has high medical academic value, traditional cultural value and economic value. However, with the death of Guo Chunyuan, Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Medical Skills has lost its "master". Comprehensive analysis of various aspects shows that this school is facing the situation of being lost. The development history of this school, to a certain extent, fits the important development context of traditional Chinese medicine. It is an intangible cultural heritage worthy of our serious study and protection.
