Qingtang Shenggu, also known as "Fushan Jizigu", is mainly popular in Fushan area. According to the "Fushan County Chronicles", "Tiansheng Palace is located at the foot of Yangjiao Mountain, 35 miles south of the county. In the second year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty, the temple (Qingtang Temple) was built. In the fifth year of Tiansheng, the temple was changed to Tiansheng Palace by imperial decree." Qingtang Shenggu evolved from the Taoist music of Tiansheng Palace. Fushan Jizigu is a large-scale drum music performance. In terms of the use of musical instruments, the drum set only has three instruments: drum, cymbals and gongs. Usually, the cymbals are used to lead the performance, and occasionally the gongs are used to lead the performance. In terms of the composition of the band, the proportion is generally one drum, two cymbals and four gongs. In terms of rhythm, it is mainly composed of basic beats and basic rhythm bytes, variant bytes and mixed beats and mixed rhythm bytes. In terms of performance, it is calm and vigorous, fierce and fiery, with both the majestic momentum of overwhelming and mighty, and the gentle and elegant charm of ups and downs. In terms of the form structure, the "big gong and drum" and "road travel" of the Fushan drum set belong to the structure of linked gong and drum suites. Each tune can be played as a single song, or can be linked into a suite. The two can be used alternately, or played separately, and the connection is natural and harmonious, the tunes are smooth, and the rhythm is compact. The Qing Tang God Drum of Fushan County began in the Tang Dynasty. It was originally produced in Taoist sacrificial activities, showing the prosperous scene of the early Tang Dynasty when the country was strong and the people were prosperous. Later, it flowed into the folk and integrated into the lives of the people. It was used in welcoming gods and praying for rain, festivals and folk activities, and gradually evolved into a folk gong and drum art with a certain scale, complete music, neat lineup, and sonorous and powerful.
