Two-player fight
In Huilin Village, Changgou Town, Rencheng District, Jining City, there is a folk art play called "Two People Fighting". It is played by one person, vivid and fascinating, and has become a unique wonder in the folk art garden. "Two People Fighting" was originally called "Two Ghosts Fighting". Legend has it that during the Chongzhen period of the late Ming Dynasty, there was a severe drought in the world. There was no rain for several consecutive months. The seedlings in the fields were sun-dried to death, and the crops were harvested without grain. People were in dire straits. In addition, the government was poor and the politics was dark at that time. The people were forced to leave their homes and beg everywhere, sell their children and daughters, and live in poverty. Faced with the scorching sky, people are eager for rain as soon as possible. The people in Huilin Village, Changgou Town, are also anxious like people all over the country. Several elderly people in the village gathered together to discuss how to pray for rain from the sky. After discussion, everyone unanimously took the sacred "dragon" they worshipped as the mascot for praying for rain, and decided to hold a "Dragon Lantern Festival" to pray for rain from the Dragon King. Therefore, the whole village, young and old, worked together and brainstormed. After more than a month of hard work, they made a giant dragon about 20 meters long, which was vivid and lifelike. Wax candles were arranged at intervals on the dragon's body. When the wax candles were lit and danced, it looked like a real dragon flying in the night sky. At the same time, in order to set off the atmosphere of people's pious prayers, people also made two fighting ghosts ingeniously. The fighting scene of the two ghosts was intended to represent the struggle of "raining" or not. After sincere prayers, people chose a good day to dance the dragon and pray for rain. Perhaps the villagers' sincerity moved the heaven. The "Dragon Lantern Festival" had just been going on for more than an hour, and layers of dark clouds slowly rose in the southeast corner. After a while, it was covered with dark clouds, lightning and thunder, and bean-sized drops of water fell down, followed by a downpour. People cheered and jumped for joy. They knelt on their knees and kowtowed to the sky to thank the "Dragon King". A sweet rain moistened people's hearts that had been dry for a long time. Since then, people have held a "Dragon Lantern Festival" every year during the dry season. In order to avoid the busy farming season, people held the "Dragon Lantern Festival" in the first month of the year at the end of each year. Over time, it became a convention and formed a local folk custom. After the Spring Festival every year, the people of Huilin Village spontaneously held a "Dragon Lantern Festival" to pray to the "Dragon King" to bless people with peace, good weather, and a good harvest. When the "Dragon Lantern Festival" was held that year, there were only dragon dances and two-person fights. Later, lion dances, floats, flower boats, big-headed dolls, and high-legged dances were added. Among many plays, the two-person fight is the most popular among the masses. The performer is a young man who puts props on his body. This is a strenuous job that consumes a lot of physical strength. It is usually performed by strong young men. The props are two "little ghosts" with strange looks, hugging each other and fighting and wrestling. They may have wide eyes, furious hair, or gritting their teeth, all showing the expression of "fighting". Whether the two-person fight can be performed vividly depends on the performers' superb acting skills. "Looking from the side, it is a mountain, and looking from the side, it is a peak". The performers' leaping, moving, falling, dangling, flipping, turning back, leaning forward, lying horizontally and other movements show the postures and forms of the two little ghosts fighting from different angles, which are realistic, touching and lifelike. As time goes by, some plays have shrunk, but the two-person fight is very popular among the masses. Li Zhaoran, the inheritor of the folk art "Erren Dou", has been learning this technique from an old man since he was in his teens. Nowadays, there are not many people like him who are willing to study "Erren Dou". His senior brothers and junior brothers have either joined the business world or changed to other things, but he is still devoted to it. In order to pass this folk art from generation to generation, he actively cultivates future generations. He selected and trained more than 20 young people who love this folk art from the village, and taught and guided them to perform during the slack season. During the performance, Master Li constantly innovated and made the art more and more perfect. At the opening ceremony of the first Confucius Art and Culture Festival, the Changgou "Erren Dou" art team selected by Rencheng District became famous under the guidance of Master Li, fully demonstrating the image of Changgou folk art. From then on, Changgou "Erren Dou" became a wonderful flower in the folk art garden. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
