Xingyunshou Changshimen martial arts
"Xingyunshou Changshimen Wushu" originated from Shengfang Town, Ba County. It is a unique school formed by Shaolin Changshi monks who integrated Shaolin martial arts with local boxing styles. With "Xingyunshou" as its symbol and named after the monk's Dharma name, it is called "Xingyunshou Changshimen" (Jinyongyishanwu Society) with a history of more than 730 years. In 1906, Liu Wenyu, the 23rd generation inheritor of "Xingyunshou Changshimen Wushu" and the first generation head of Tianjin, went to Tianjin to open a branch. During the Republic of China, it was registered as the 26th Guoshu Society. Yang Fangde, the second generation head of Tianjin, taught at the Tianjin Red Flag Wushu School after liberation. This martial arts has four parts: routines, grappling, free-hand grappling, and mind skills. The routines include boxing and various equipment. When practicing, "open and close, ups and downs, hard and soft, hard but not stiff". - focuses on practicing strength, speed, and hardness. Free-hand mainly practices single moves, with quick shots and internal and external six combinations. There are four categories of grappling: "wrapping, breaking, tying, and floating". The techniques are rigorous, and the same is true for anti-grappling. The mind method is the application of combat tactics and psychology, requiring the use of true and false, real and fake, strange and regular, and is taught orally by the master. Its basic theory is "dodge, move, carry and lead", "eyes are the vanguard, heart is calculation, hands are knives, and feet are the stronghold". This school worships the ancestor Bodhidharma. Apprentices practice martial arts every day, first worship Bodhidharma, and then greet the master. The master teaches the apprentice the principles of life. This martial art maintains its original style and characteristics, and is highly visible. Due to its spread in Tianjin for more than a hundred years, its cultural connotation inevitably absorbs the culture of Tianjin style, integrates into the people and the Tianjin martial arts, and becomes a cultural heritage with Tianjin characteristics.
