Stilts Stilt dance was popular in Peng'an County and some towns before liberation (the origin and date are unknown), and was usually performed on the streets during the Spring Festival. According to some artists, stilts were very exciting in the past, and they could also perform on the streets with stilts and carrying the community fire pavilion on their shoulders. Stilt dance was still very popular in Peng'an in the early days of liberation. During the Cultural Revolution, stilt dance, like other folk dances, was relegated to the cold palace. After the overthrow of the "-", ethnic folk dances were liberated like the people of the whole country, but now the artists who can walk on stilts are old, and young people are afraid of danger because they can't walk well, so the popular stilt dance is facing extinction. The main dance movement characteristics of stilt dance are: mainly based on yangko, with both hands swinging naturally, and twisting forward with the sound of yangko gongs while maintaining balance.
