Dingxia Stilts. Stilts are a kind of folk dance, named after the fact that the dancers often step on wooden stilts with both feet. It is mainly spread in Dingxia Village. Its main features are: male and female minor actors stand on them to play the roles of clowns and female roles, make jokes, and perform minor tunes. The content is mostly traditional stories of loyalty to the emperor and the country, or new stories are compiled in combination with new policies and current events. Sometimes, according to the needs of the story, minor tune actors have to make various thrilling actions on stilts, which requires certain skills and abilities. Due to its novel form and rich story content, stilts are very popular among farmers. If there is a happy event in a family, such as the birth of a child, promotion to a higher school, or moving into a new house, the owner will invite the stilts team to perform to increase the festive atmosphere. At the same time, stilts actors will also spontaneously organize performances during festivals (such as the Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, etc.), not only in their own village, but sometimes in other villages in Fen City. In 2014, Dingxia Stilts was listed as a municipal intangible cultural heritage.
