Philosophy related to the heritage

Interpretation of Chengde Mountain Resort from the perspective of Eastern philosophy As a model of ancient Chinese royal gardens, the design and layout of Chengde Mountain Resort are deeply influenced by Eastern philosophy, especially Taoism and Confucianism. From the perspective of Eastern philosophy, the Mountain Resort embodies the concept of "harmony between man and nature", that is, the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. The landscape, architecture and natural landscape in the garden are integrated, reflecting the Taoist spirit of pursuing nature and conforming to nature. At the same time, the Confucian "doctrine of the mean" is also reflected in the layout of the garden, showing the pursuit of order and harmony through the carefully designed landscape. In addition, many buildings and attractions in the Mountain Resort, such as the Yanbo Zhishuang Hall and Wanhe Songfeng, not only reflect the majesty of the royal family, but also contain appreciation and awe of natural beauty, reflecting the pursuit and respect for natural beauty in Eastern philosophy. Interpretation of Chengde Mountain Resort from the perspective of Western philosophy From the perspective of Western philosophy, Chengde Mountain Resort can be interpreted as the pursuit and expression of "beauty". Western philosophy, especially ancient Greek philosophy, has a profound discussion on "beauty", believing that beauty exists objectively and is the embodiment of cosmic order and harmony. From the perspective of Western aesthetics, the layout and design of the Mountain Resort show the pursuit of proportion, symmetry and harmony, which coincides with the concept of Western classical aesthetics. At the same time, the construction of the Mountain Resort also reflects human transformation and utilization of nature, which is regarded as a symbol of human rationality and technological progress in Western philosophy, especially in the thought of the Enlightenment. In addition, as a royal garden, the scale and luxury of the Mountain Resort also reflect the thinking of power and wealth in Western philosophy, that is, how power and wealth affect human pursuit and creation of beauty. In summary, whether from the perspective of Eastern philosophy or Western philosophy, Chengde Mountain Resort shows human pursuit and expression of nature, beauty, order and harmony, and is the embodiment of Eastern and Western philosophical thoughts in specific landscape design and construction.
