Guangfu has a long history, rich culture, beautiful scenery and abundant products. It is a famous hometown of flowers, fruits, fish and rice. It has always been known as "a paradise of lakes and mountains". Every spring, plum blossoms are in full bloom in the Dengwei Mountain area, spreading over 30 miles. At a glance, it looks like a rippling sea and snow all over the ground. The annual Dengwei Plum Blossom Exploration has become a folk custom in Suzhou. Every time the flowers bloom, there is an endless stream of people who explore plum blossoms and seek spring. It is said that Cha Xin, a Taoist priest in the Song Dynasty, planted plum trees in Shanwu. Later, the mountain people made plum planting their profession, so that plum blossoms were everywhere. Dengwei plum blossoms have many varieties, mainly white plum blossoms with thousands of petals, red plum blossoms, green plum blossoms, purple plum blossoms, black plum blossoms, etc. In the Ming Dynasty, with the prosperity of Suzhou's economy and culture, Guangfu plum blossoms gradually became large-scale, and plum blossom exploration became an elegant act for celebrities in the southeast. During the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi visited Dengyu three times and Emperor Qianlong visited Dengyu six times, and both of them left poems. From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, the plum blossoms in Dengyu gradually declined due to changes in the local planting structure; it was not until the reform and opening up that they gradually recovered. The best place to visit plum blossoms in Dengyu is Xiangxuehai. Xiangxuehai is located on Majia Mountain in the southwest of Guangfu Town. In the 35th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign (1696), Song Lu, the governor of Jiangsu Province, appreciated the artistic conception of "looking at a piece of white from afar, the snow sea waves are thousands of miles away", so he named it "Xiangxuehai" and engraved the inscription on the cliff, which has since become famous. Xiangxuehai Scenic Area has attractions such as Wenmei Pavilion, Plum Blossom Pavilion, and Qianlong Imperial Poetry Stele. Visiting plum blossoms in early spring is a custom in the south of the Yangtze River, and it has also become an important part of the spring tour in Wudi. The plum blossom blooms in the cold, which is a metaphor for the spirit of fearlessness and pioneering. People love plum blossoms because they have the quality and character of defying frost and snow, and being iron-boned and ice-cold. Dengwei plum blossom is a typical case of a scenic spot formed by large-scale fruit tree planting, with distinctive characteristics. Dengwei is located in a land of fish and rice, the suburbs of a big city, the shore of a big lake, and along the canal.
