Pule Temple is located in Chengde City, Hebei Province. It was built in the 31st year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1766 AD). The temple is a combination of Han and Tibetan architecture. The western part is composed of the mountain gate, Heavenly King Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, side halls, and main hall in accordance with the style of Han temples. The eastern part is a Tibetan city building. The main building is Xuguang Pavilion, with a double-eaved dome, similar to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. There is a circular caisson on the top of the pavilion with dragon and phoenix patterns. The center of the dragon and phoenix caisson is carved with a golden dragon playing with a pearl. The caisson adopts the technique of three-layer heavy-tilted and heavy-raised nine-step brackets with layers of contraction. The carving is fine and golden, with extremely high artistic value.

Interpretation from the perspective of Eastern philosophy: Chengde Pule Temple Chengde Pule Temple, as a treasure of ancient Chinese architectural art, its existence itself is the embodiment of the idea of "harmony between man and nature" in Eastern philosophy. Eastern philosophy, especially Confucianism and Taoism, emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and man and the universe. The layout of Pule Temple, following the terrain of the mountain, cleverly integrates architecture with the natural environment, reflecting respect and compliance with nature, which is the practice of the concept of "complying with nature" in Eastern philosophy. At the same time, the architectural decorations of Pule Temple, such as paintings and sculptures, are full of symbolic meanings, reflecting the concepts of cause and effect, reincarnation, etc. in Buddhist philosophy, guiding people to be kind, practice, and pursue inner peace and transcendence. Interpretation from the perspective of Western philosophy: Chengde Pule Temple From the perspective of Western philosophy, Chengde Pule Temple can be interpreted as a pursuit of "beauty" and an exploration of "eternity". Western philosophy, especially ancient Greek philosophy, has a deep tradition of pursuing beauty and exploring ideal forms. The architectural aesthetics of Pule Temple, with its symmetry, proportion and exquisite decoration, embodies the pursuit of beauty, which echoes the idealized pursuit of "beauty" in Western philosophy. At the same time, as a religious building, the significance of Pule Temple is to guide people to think about the meaning of life and the destination of the soul, which is consistent with the exploration of "eternity" and "immortality" in Western philosophy, reflecting the human desire to transcend the material world and pursue eternal values at the spiritual level. In summary, whether from the Eastern philosophy of "harmony between man and nature" and "conformity to nature", or from the Western philosophy of the pursuit of "beauty" and the exploration of "eternity", Chengde Pule Temple, with its unique existence, shows the human yearning for a better life and the profound thinking about the meaning of life.
