Ningbo is located on the coast of the East China Sea, on the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, facing the sea to the east, with Siming Mountain and Tiantai Mountain behind it. It has been blessed with unique geographical conditions by nature, and has benefited from the inheritance and development of the pastry making skills of predecessors by pastry chefs of all generations, gradually forming a unique style of Ning-style pastry. Meilongzhen Ning-style pastry takes advantage of the abundant food resources in the south of the Yangtze River. It uses rice and flour as the main ingredients and uses a variety of techniques to create a variety of pastry varieties with their own characteristics. From material selection to processing and cooking, each process has strict requirements, forming its own special craftsmanship, and paying attention to sweet, glutinous, loose and smooth flavors. According to different seasons and different styles, there are all kinds of unique seasonal snacks and seasonal desserts. Meilongzhen cakes, with a long history and unique taste, inherit the traditional style of Jiangnan cakes and snacks. In terms of production technology, the traditional pure handmade method is adopted, the materials are exquisite, the production is fine, and the taste is "sweet but not greasy, soft and delicious". Among them, "Dragon and Phoenix Golden Ball" and "Oil-boiled Sesame Ball" have won the title of "Famous Chinese Snacks" by the Ministry of Commerce. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhao Dayou, like other time-honored enterprises, experienced a tortuous development path such as public-private partnership. In the 1990s, it was renamed Ningbo Jiangbei Zhao Dayou Food Factory, and moved to No. 48 Dazhong Road, Changle Village, Gaoqiao Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo in August 2007. The enterprise was renamed "Ningbo Yinzhou Zhao Dayou Food Factory" in November 2009 with the approval of the industrial and commercial department. In order to save this century-old national brand, Chen Hongyun resolutely raised funds to establish "Ningbo Zhao Dayou Food Co., Ltd." by inheriting the ancestral pastry recipe of her husband Wang Heyi's grandfather, the Zhao family. At present, Zhao Dayou Food Company has formed more than 160 varieties of soft cakes and crispy biscuits represented by glutinous rice products, bulk glutinous rice balls with fillings, bean paste fillings, Zhao Dayou Hongshuangxi gift cakes, crystal oil buns, etc. The products are sold in more than 300 hypermarkets in and outside the province, including Sanjiang, Jiabei, Xinjiangxia, Walmart, Carrefour, Auchan, Tesco, Century Lianhua, etc. in Shanghai, Zhejiang and other places in Ningbo. With annual sales of more than 10 million yuan, Zhao Dayou was rated as a "Zhejiang time-honored brand" in 2008. Since then, the social recognition, popularity and reputation of "Zhao Dayou" have been further improved.
