"Luoyang's land is most suitable for flowers, and peonies are the most unique in the world." Luoyang is an ancient capital of 13 dynasties and a famous historical and cultural city in my country, known as the thousand-year-old imperial capital and the city of peonies. Peony is a traditional famous flower in my country, gorgeous and dignified, and the most beautiful among all flowers. It is known as the "king of flowers". Luoyang's suitable climate, fertile soil, and the unique cultural environment of the ancient capital have made peonies and Luoyang inseparable. Peonies were planted in Luoyang starting in the Sui Dynasty, flourishing in the Tang Dynasty, and the best in the world in the Song Dynasty. Peonies are the best in the world because of Luoyang, and Luoyang is more glorious because of peonies. Peonies have become an important representative of Luoyang's city image, and peony culture has become an important part of Luoyang culture. From a national perspective, peony has become the national flower of public opinion, and will officially become the national flower of China as it deserves. The Luoyang Peony Culture Festival, formerly known as the Luoyang Peony Fair, has been included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. As one of the four famous festivals in China, it began in 1983. In November 2010, it was officially approved by the State Council and the Ministry of Culture to be upgraded to a national festival and renamed the "Luoyang Peony Culture Festival". It is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the People's Government of Henan Province. The Luoyang Peony Fair is held every year from a certain day in April to a certain day in May according to the blooming of peonies. The flowers bloom and fall for twenty days, and the people of the city are crazy. The Luoyang Peony Culture Festival is a large-scale comprehensive economic and cultural event that integrates flower appreciation and lantern viewing, tourism, economic and trade cooperation and exchanges. It has become a platform for Luoyang to develop its economy and a window to showcase its city image, a bridge for Luoyang to go global and a business card for the world to understand Luoyang. People love peonies, which gives them the excellent character of representing the spiritual power of the Chinese nation. Wu Zetian was in the garden in winter, and she was so excited that she ordered all flowers to bloom within a limited time. All flowers were frightened by power and had to bloom, but the peony did not bloom on time, so Wu Zetian ordered it to be burned and banished from Chang'an. In "Autumn Encounter with the Fairy", a group of evil slaves destroyed the garden, and it was the Peony Fairy who came in time to save the destroyed peonies and severely punished the thugs. The spirit of peony, which is not afraid of power and evil forces, is highly praised. As a "rich flower", peony is not delicate and fragile. It originally grew in the vast mountains. In modern times, due to the shrinking forest area and the excessive digging of medicinal materials, wild peony can only grow tenaciously on cliffs. On the dry and barren land of the Loess Plateau, it still blooms gorgeous flowers. In 1959, Premier Li Keqiang said in Luoyang: "Peony is the national flower of our country. It is elegant and magnificent, and it is a symbol of the prosperity, development, beauty and happiness of our Chinese nation." Today, the cultural symbolism of peony has been given new meaning, because it aptly represents the beautiful image of China's peace and prosperity and bright future after reform and opening up. It has distinct characteristics of the times and expresses the common ideals and aspirations of people of all ethnic groups in the country.
