Baoying Three-person Flower Drum is a traditional dance item in the first batch of representative items of municipal intangible cultural heritage. The Three-person Flower Drum originated in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, and flourished in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. It evolved from Fengyang Flower Drum, also known as "Flower Drum Lantern", and spread in the northern villages of Baoying, Yangzhou, and was particularly popular in the Huangcheng area. It perfectly combines dance, singing and gong and drum music, plot and emotion, and integrates skills and performance. The dance is dynamic, the rhythm is sonorous and powerful, the movements are flexible and free, the postures are full of charm, the formation changes frequently, the performance scene is hot, the actors are cheerful and passionate, the singing is rough and high-pitched, and the performance atmosphere is warm and unrestrained, fully demonstrating the rich local characteristics. The Three-person Flower Drum is performed by three people, and five auxiliary actors are responsible for leading, accompanying and percussion accompaniment. The performance venue is not limited, and the field, the field, and the courtyard can all be the performance venue. The content of the performance is to express the people's good wishes for political harmony, peace and prosperity, good weather, and longevity, reflecting people's persistence and yearning for a happy life.
