The Jishan Temple Fair in Maocun is a folk custom project in the second batch of representative projects of Xuzhou's municipal intangible cultural heritage. According to the existing inscriptions on the stone tablets of the Qing Dynasty, the Jishan Temple Fair has been popular since the Tang Dynasty. The construction scale of the "Golden Dragon Hall" (original name) in Jishan is magnificent and the incense is very strong. According to legend, a Feng Shui master from the south passed by this place and said after seeing it: "This is incredible. The future officials and talents will come from the north", so he suggested that the abbot rebuild a similar hall on the southern slope. The hall was destroyed in a natural disaster in the middle of the Yuan Dynasty. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, several Taoist monks such as Sun Daoren and Sun Maotian rebuilt the hall on the original site and served as abbots, continuing the incense of the temple. The birthday of Sakyamuni on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month every year is the official meeting, which lasts for three days. Ten days before the meeting, merchants and hawkers from all over the country came to Jishan to grab favorable positions. On the seventh day of the first lunar month, from the foot of the mountain to the front and back of the theater on the mountain, there were colorful sheds everywhere. Various kinds of noodle snacks. Clothing, shoes and hats, and various daily necessities filled the entire wheat field; storytellers, singers, fortune tellers, burning incense and worshiping Buddha, from the foot of the mountain to the temple, there were crowds of people. A large stage was set up in Ji Changkun's yard on the east side of Jishan Mountain, and Bangzi Opera was sung, which was still lively until the evening. The Jishan Temple Fair originated earlier, and the believers were Bixia Yuanjun (Taishan Grandma) and the Goddess of Childbirth. It is a temple fair based on folk belief activities and a holy place for Bixia Yuanjun belief in northern Xuzhou.
