Nantong Sugar Painting
Nantong sugar painting is a traditional art project in the fifth batch of representative projects of Nantong's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Sugar painting is a painting made of sugar. It is both sugar and painting, and can be seen and eaten. It is commonly known as "inverted sugar man" among the people. Sugar painting uses syrup as "ink" and spoon as "brush". Through the hand-made work of artists on bluestone slabs, various vivid, delicious and vivid sugar paintings are drawn. The figures and animals are the most interesting. Nantong sugar painting combines the two representational techniques of traditional sugar painting lines and scraping, and integrates the art of carving. On the basis of accurate modeling, the interior is filled completely, and the internal texture lines are quickly carved before the sugar cools down, making the sugar painting more rich in shape. "Sugar" means sweetness, and "painting" means variety. Nantong sugar painting can not only become the people's wish for a better life, but also a kind of food for children to relieve their cravings, and it is also the joy of childhood for generations, and it has rich value.
