The Pingxiang Wusheng Palace Temple Fair has a long history. It is said that the 13th day of the fifth lunar month is the birthday of Guan Yu, a famous general of the Shu Han Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms Period, so it is called "Guan Gong Birthday". In the late Qing Dynasty, Su Yuanchun, then the governor of Guangxi, built the Wusheng Palace in Pingxiang Dalian City as a military camp to worship Guan Yu, the Wusheng. Since then, on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month every year, many people in Pingxiang City and neighboring counties will spontaneously go to the Wusheng Palace to participate in the Guan Gong Birthday Temple Fair. The Guan Gong Birthday Temple Fair combines worship of Guandi, commercial activities, material exchanges, and cultural entertainment. It was a large-scale mass event at the time. It was not only famous in Pingxiang, but also affected the surrounding counties of Longzhou, Ningming and Vietnam. It was interrupted during the war. In recent years, with the development of tourism and the far-reaching influence of border culture, Pingxiang has resumed this folk temple fair that had been interrupted for many years. Every year, tourists from all over the country come here, and Vietnamese tourists also come from afar, which has promoted the development of our city's tourism industry and the exchange of folk culture between the two countries. The Wusheng Palace Temple Fair is gradually becoming an important folk cultural activity on the China-Vietnam border.
