Sichuan
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Due to tourism development and ticket price increases, some important contents of the temple fair have disappeared, and the characteristics of the temple fair have been greatly weakened, so the number of people attending the fair has also decreased accordingly. The Wenchang Temple Fair of Qiqushan Temple has a long history and a large scale. It integrates a variety of ancient arts, food culture, and folk customs. In the course of historical development, it has accumulated profound folk customs, covering the northwest Sichuan region and continuously radiating outward, forming the unique Zitong Fair, Wenchang Sacrifice, Wenchang Welcoming God Fair, Wenchang Sweeping, Wenchang Elimination Dharma Fair, Da La Fair, Incense Worship Fair, etc., as well as various folk art acrobatics, speaking of sacred oracles, playing Daotong and other rich and diverse folk activities, forming the ancient customs of northern Sichuan to thank the gods and entertain people, with many participants and far-reaching influence. Due to the diversion of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway to the Mianyang-Guangzhou Expressway, the income of the temple fair has decreased, the ticket price has increased, the survival environment of the temple fair has weakened, it is no longer prosperous, and the protection is general. Restore traditional temple fairs and related folk activities, reduce ticket prices, attract more people, increase popularity, protect traditional folk temple fairs, and pay attention to the rescue and protection of traditional temple fairs. It is recommended to restore the traditional temple fair of Qiqushan Temple as one of the key tourism development projects, increase funding, and protect and pass it on during the use process.
