Han nationality. There are two types: Cantonese and Hakka. Hakka folk songs were introduced with Jiangxi immigrants in the Qing Dynasty and spread in the northeastern region of Xinyi. Xinyi folk songs are generally three, five, or seven words, with contents such as criticizing current politics and persuading people to be kind. There are children's songs, pastoral songs, love songs, ritual songs, persuasive songs, and life songs. They have entertainment and educational functions and folklore research value.
