🎧  Listen to Introduction

The Eight Sounds of the Zhuang Nationality in Lianshan developed from the “Three Sounds” of playing the three musical instruments of “Che (cymbals), Du (drums), and Meng (gongs)”. The “Three Sounds” had few categories of musical instruments, and the atmosphere was not lively enough when playing them, so some artists kept adding some instruments during the playing process, and gradually developed from one person playing three instruments at the same time to seven or eight people playing seven or eight instruments respectively, which gradually developed into the “Eight Sounds”.
