Dongshan Ancestral Temple is located in the east of Luojing Town, Luoding City. Dongshan Ancestral Temple was first built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally named Feidong Temple. It was rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and rebuilt during the Xianfeng period. It was named Sixuan Emperor Temple. After several constructions, it was named Dongshan Ancestral Temple. In Luojing Town, the Dongshan Ancestral Temple Fair attracts tens of thousands of believers from all over the country to worship devoutly every year with its traditional folk art form. For more than 430 years, the incense has been prosperous and continuous, and the scene is lively and spectacular. The Dongshan Ancestral Temple Fair is a folk mass activity and folk cultural activity with folk beliefs as the main content. Over the past hundreds of years, the content and form of people's belief and commemoration of Dongshan Ancestral Temple have become more and more rich and diversified, thus forming a fixed activity time and a relatively stable form of expression, making the Dongshan Ancestral Temple Fair a unique folk activity that still exists in Luojing Town, reflecting traditions, beliefs, lifestyles, and folk customs. The Dongshan Ancestral Temple fair is mainly concentrated on the Double Ninth Festival on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month (a grand festival is held every three years) and the "Birthday of the Northern Emperor" on the third day of the third lunar month every year. The main contents of the temple fair include the Northern Emperor's "eating teeth victory", thousands of people worshiping, eight-tone birthday celebrations, lion dance performances, costumes, donations of incense oil, walking on a mountain of knives, walking down a sea of fire, singing folk songs, acting, performing rituals, etc.
