Nuwa mends the skyIn ancient times, the universe was in chaos and the universe was in chaos. After the giant Pangu created the world, the world was ruled by Emperor Fuxi. According to legend, after Emperor Fuxi died, his wife Nuwa was elected as the queen of mankind by the clan alliance. The water god Gonggong refused to obey Nuwa and wanted to establish himself as an emperor. Nuwa was angry and ordered the fire god Zhurong to lead the tribe to the north to fight against Gonggong. The battle lasted for three days and three nights, and the sky was dark and the sun and moon were dim. Although Gonggong was brave, he was defeated by Zhurong and had nowhere to hide because evil could not prevail over justice. The defeated Gonggong was furious and hit his head against Mount Buzhou. Mount Buzhou was the pillar that supported the sky. When Gonggong hit it, it made a shocking sound. The sky collapsed, the moon was crooked, the stars were slanted, the mountains and forests caught fire, floods gushed out, the earth sank into cracks, half of the sky fell down, and a big hole appeared. Dragons, snakes, tigers and leopards came out to devour the people. Looking around, there were thousands of bones and blades, and rivers of blood. Humanity encountered an unprecedented disaster and faced the danger of extinction. Seeing that her subjects were about to lose their living conditions, Nuwa was extremely anxious. She traveled through the mountains and was determined to refine stones to mend the sky. Finally, she climbed the Tiantai Mountain, which was high and wide, with abundant water and stones. She grabbed a handful of sand from the north, a handful of soil from the south, and a pile of stones from the west. She lit the sky fire and merged the sand, soil, and stones into a five-color paste. After smelting for 9981 days, she refined 36,501 five-color giant stones with a thickness of 12 feet and a width of 24 feet. Together with the generals, she mended the sky. In order to prevent the sky from collapsing again. Nuwa caught a turtle from the East China Sea and used the turtle's four legs as pillars to support the four corners of the sky. Because the west and north sides are shorter, there is a saying that "the sky tilts to the northwest". Three large deep pits appeared where sand was grabbed from the north, soil was grabbed from the south, and stones were taken from the west, and they could not be smoothed out. So far, on the ancient land of China, the Turpan Basin in the north, the Sichuan Basin in the south, and the Qinghai Lake in the west have been formed. Because of the use of five-colored stones to mend the sky, rainbows and colorful clouds were formed in the sky. After the sky was mended, the flood returned to its course, the raging fire was extinguished, the heaven and earth were in place, and the whole world celebrated together. People went to Tiantai Mountain to welcome Nuwa back to the court. Nuwa was very happy and blew the sheng and flute happily. The remaining fragments of the five-colored stones flew up with the sound of the flute. In an instant, a mountain made up of hundreds of millions of stones rose from the ground and pierced the sky. Because this mountain stands in the east of China, it is called Dongshan. Because it stands north and south with Mount Tai, it is also called "Little Mount Tai" because it is lower than Mount Tai. Filial daughter jumps off the cliff to sacrifice herself. The cliff to sacrifice herself is also called the cliff of wife jumping. At the foot of Mount Yi, there is a village called Huizhuang. There is an old man in the village who is over 70 years old. His wife died early, leaving a son named Xian Ge. Xian Ge was handsome and kind-hearted. He married a beautiful wife in his twenties. People used to call her Xian Sao. After Xian Sao married, she was considerate to her husband, filial to her father-in-law, frugal and hardworking. Everyone in the village praised her. Unexpected things happen in the world, and people are subject to misfortunes at any time. One day, Xian Ge went up the mountain to collect firewood and was swept off the cliff by a whirlwind. He was dying. Before he died, he asked Xian Sao to take good care of his father, whether he remarried or remained a widow. The elderly and sick father-in-law was bedridden for a while because of excessive grief. Now people started to talk about it, saying that Xian Sao was young, beautiful and had no children, so she would definitely remarry. But after a while, Xian Sao not only did not remarry, but took better care of her father-in-law. They planted a few acres of thin land. On weekdays, she and her father-in-law worked together. At night, Xian Sao spun and her father-in-law pulled the thread. In this way, they lived on simple meals and thin clothes. This year, the weather was particularly cold. Their thatched house was shaking in the biting cold wind. Every corner was filled with cold air. The firewood was burned out and there was no fire for heating. Young people have strong ability to resist cold, so Xiansao managed to hold on, but the old father-in-law's feet were frozen red, swollen, and cracked. Xiansao looked at the poor father-in-law and was very anxious, but the cold wind from God was still cutting the old man's feet like a knife. Listening to the father-in-law's painful groans, Xiansao's heart was broken. She walked to the father-in-law's bed, grabbed the old man's purple carrot-like feet and said, "Dad, stretch out your feet, I'll warm them for you." Before the old man understood, she held the father-in-law's feet in her arms and warmed them up. One day, two days, and three days later, this matter was spread by a few people who spread rumors for no reason. So, Xiansao, a model of respecting the elderly, suddenly became an unfaithful woman in people's eyes. The tongue is a Longquan sword, killing people without blood! The old man couldn't stand it, and with tears in his eyes, he persuaded his wife to remarry. His wife hugged her father-in-law's legs, knelt on the ground and said: "You are my real father, I will serve you all my life!" But the rumors were so strong that his wife couldn't explain it even if she had a thousand mouths! Death is easy! Who will take care of her father-in-law! Living is too difficult. Not to mention farming, even begging, who is willing to give food to an unchaste woman? This poor woman! At this time, someone, whether out of kindness or malice, gave his wife an idea and asked her to jump off the cliff of Yishan Mountain. It was said: Good people will not die from falling, and bad people will not survive. Whether it is true or false, the gods can tell. So, on the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, his wife got up early, washed her face, combed her hair, and ran to the cliff of Yishan Mountain. After burning three sticks of incense, he knelt down and said, "I believe that good will be rewarded and evil will be punished. I will jump from here today. If there is a spirit in heaven, please let me go home safely to serve my father-in-law." After saying that, he jumped off the cliff. People who came to see the virtuous sister-in-law thought that the virtuous sister-in-law would die, but when they went home, they found that the virtuous sister-in-law had already been at home to serve her father-in-law. Erlang carried stones to build Yi. It is said that King Zhou of Shang was bewitched by Daji, the incarnation of the nine-tailed fox spirit. He indulged in wine and women, only listened to women's words, cruelly abused the people, killed ministers, and the sky was worried and the people were resentful. King Wu of Xiqi led the princes to attack him and captured Chaoge. King Zhou set fire to the Star-Picking Tower, which led to the demise of the Shang Dynasty and peace in the world. In order to make the loyal ministers and filial sons who died in battle, and to prevent the wandering souls from being helpless and waiting all day, Marshal Jiang Ziya of King Wu built the Conferred God Platform, posted the Conferred God List, and conferred the gods and ghosts. However, the gods have overcome the disasters and settled the chaos. Now the world is peaceful and they are not attracted by the wealth, fame and honor of the world. They voluntarily asked to return to the mountains to practice Taoism. The Jade Emperor was delighted to see this and hurriedly called them back to the Heavenly Palace to take up their respective posts. For a time, the whole Heavenly Palace was very lively. These immortals who lived in various famous mountains and rivers were busy touring the longed-for Heavenly Palace and enjoying the scenery in every corner. However, they were greatly disappointed and shouted: "There is not a decent mountain in such a large Heavenly Palace. It seems that there is more than enough lively scenery, but it is a pity!" After hearing this, the Jade Emperor felt a little ashamed and called Erlang Zhenjun to go down to the Heavenly Palace to find stones and build a magnificent and asynchronously changing imperial flower rockery. Erlang Shen held a three-pointed double-edged sword and relied on his three eyes to see far and accurately. He went to the mountains and lakes alone to find many strange and wonderful stones. Some of them are abrupt and majestic, some are like red pearls, some are like newlyweds whispering, and some are like two children fighting and wrestling. On this day, Erlang Shen traveled around Mount Tai, the first of the Five Sacred Mountains, Mount Laoshan with flowing springs and waterfalls, and Mount Qianfoshan with incense smoke. He carried the strange rocks that he had found in the south and north and pieced together with his three-pointed, two-edged sword and came to Dongshan, known as the "Little Mount Tai", ready to take a short rest before going up the mountain to look for rocks. As his mood relaxed, fatigue and exhaustion came over him. Zhenjun's eyelids drooped, his body tilted, and he fell asleep. I don't know how long it took, Erlang Shen yawned and opened his sleepy eyes. When he looked closely, the stone he was looking for was gone. He looked around and couldn't find it, but Dongshan not far away seemed to have something strange. From a distance, Dongshan looked like a person roaring to the sky, vowing to compete with the God of Heaven! The mountain was covered with mist, surging clouds, and moving clouds and rain. It was like a fairyland! Erlang Shen went straight to the mountain. The rocks on the mountain were as wide as a mile and as high as several feet. They were as small as goose eggs and as big as hills. They were in various shapes, jagged and rugged, exquisite and translucent, and undulating! The trees on the mountain were lush and green, clear and tall, and filled the mountains and valleys; there were thousands of beautiful rocks in the mountains, and thousands of ravines were crisscrossed. There were clouds and broken ridges, and there was a different world; there were strange rocks on the mountain, and there were caves under the rocks. There were springs in the caves, and hundreds of springs were gushing. "Before I went to bed, this East Mountain was bare?" Erlang Shen thought to himself. It turned out that when he was sleeping, those stones somehow grew legs and piled up on this East Mountain according to a strange method. Erlang Shen couldn't bear to demolish such a mysterious and unique mountain, so he returned to the Heavenly Palace empty-handed to report to the Jade Emperor. The gods were suspicious and escorted the Jade Emperor out of the South Gate of Heaven. They parted the clouds and looked at the East Mountain. As expected, the mountain was not high, but the peaks were strange and the scenery was beautiful. Birds were flying. The Jade Emperor loved it and was reluctant to destroy it, so he ordered to build another South Gate of Heaven on this mountain and build a Lingxiao Palace as his palace on earth. It didn't matter that the Jade Emperor built a palace here. The Taishang Laojun, the Eight Immortals and other gods also came here to build caves. For a time, people from heaven and earth came here all day long. The Jade Emperor saw that this mountain was also full of people, so he named it "Yishan". Because "Yi" and "Yi" are homophones, it was later called "Yishan". (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)(No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
