It is held every three or four years for three days in a clan. Since the sacrifice is still presided over by Chama (i.e. "Shaman"), and traditional Shaman dances are performed, and many rituals such as ancestral gods and nature worship are offered, Shaman Family Sacrifice has become a living fossil for the study of Shamanism.
