folk dance art form popular in Yongshou County of our city. The "Yongshou County Chronicles" compiled by Jiang Ji during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty recorded: "Qianyong is simple and has no miscellaneous plays. Every auspicious day and festival, there are wine, gifts and food; everyone follows their convenience, and the family and fathers and sons enjoy themselves. Only the Lantern Festival community fire performances, stories, boat lanterns, bamboo horses, tea picking, and yangko have only appeared recently, and there were no such performances in ancient times." It can be seen that Yongshou folk dance was very prosperous in the Qing Dynasty. Pulling a stubborn donkey mainly shows the story that happened on the road when the wife rode a donkey into the city to watch the "community fire". Before the appearance, the donkey neighed long, and then the donkey stubbornly pulled its neck and ran around with the grandson. The grandson tightened the reins and argued with the stubborn donkey. The old man hurriedly chased after it. The wife tightened the donkey's bit and panicked. The old man kept nagging and complained that his grandson pulled a stubborn donkey. The humorous dialogue between the old man and his wife made the audience laugh. The dance is vivid and emotional when performing riding a donkey uphill, downhill, and across the river. It not only shows the wife's various donkey riding skills, but also depicts the donkey's stubbornness. Through the humorous, funny and interesting performances between the wife, the old man and the grandson, a relaxed and cheerful dramatic mood is created. The basic dance steps of pulling the stubborn donkey use small flower steps. In order to better highlight the stubborn character of the donkey, the donkey is equipped with a string of bells, which highlights the joy and jumping, which not only publicizes its stubbornness and mischief, but also highlights its simplicity and cuteness. The old man's honesty and simplicity, the grandson's cleverness and liveliness, and the wife's kindness, frankness, optimism and humor are all vividly expressed. In particular, the section of the donkey kicking people, through the dance movements of pulling, riding, pushing, lifting, patting, hitting, and whipping, as well as the lively and vivid life details of the donkey such as trotting, walking slowly, lying down, running wildly, and kicking, the performance was pushed to a climax. The performance of Pulling the Stubborn Donkey is accompanied by percussion instruments. The gong and drum beats are cheerful and smooth, which not only sets off the atmosphere but also enhances the effect of the performance.
