Miao Flower Stick Dance
The Miao Flower Stick Dance is also called "beating flower sticks" and is called "Nuo Nao" in Miao dialect. It is mainly spread in the villages where the Red Miao branch lives in Bailuo Village, Muyin Township, Luodian County. It is a folk self-entertainment dance. The number of people in the performance varies greatly, ranging from one, two, three, to six, and most of them are performed by three people. The whole dance consists of more than ten movements, including "Laoganga" (beating flower sticks), "Tuolao" (two people's sticks), "Laogeha" (top waist strength), "Rang Akang" (dragon drinking water), "Aode" (lifting injured people), "Dasong" (winnowing rice), "Molengjia" (asking for baba), "Bangsong" (mouse 0 stick), and "Laoji" (pounding pestle). This dance has no instrumental accompaniment. The main props are sticks that are thin in the middle and thick at both ends. Some dance segments also use winnowing baskets and earthen bowls filled with water. The whole dance is full of a strong local flavor. (No pictures available, please provide them.)
