Rice Flower Festival Every year on the 17th day of the seventh lunar month, audiences from Qingzhen City, Dafang County, Jinsha County, Hezhang County, and surrounding towns will gather in Mixinzhai Village, Tieshi Township, to celebrate the annual Miao and Su Miao "Rice Flower Festival". Su Miao is a branch of the Miao ethnic group, named for its unique batik patterns and plain embroidery on its clothing. In the early years of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Wu Sangui rebelled against the Qing Dynasty. In order to avoid famine and war, Su Miao compatriots began to migrate everywhere and then poured into various parts of Guizhou. The Miao people of Tieshi Miao and Yi Township were the first Su Miao to enter Qianxi. The Miao and Su Miao "Rice Flower Festival" of Tieshi Miao and Yi Township has a unique local ethnic culture. It is mainly developed from the old "rice flower sacrifice" to today's activities for young boys and girls to talk about love, and adults to communicate about production and economic development. At this time of year, local Miao compatriots will invite relatives and friends from far away to spontaneously come to the venue to celebrate the festival together. The Miao "Rice Flower Festival" in Tieshi Township preserves ancient art forms such as reed pipe dance, polyphonic Miao songs, lion dance, toast songs, and the sacrificial instrument three-eyed flute, allowing visitors from afar to gain a deeper understanding of the charm of Tieshi Township's folk art and culture.
