The New Rice Festival is held from the 15th to the 20th day of the 10th lunar month every year. After the harvest in autumn every year, the new grain can only be eaten after the New Rice Festival. Otherwise, it cannot be used casually. The New Rice Festival is as lively as the New Year. During the festival, every household cooks new rice, puts out wine and rice, and offers sacrifices to the gods, ancestors and the tripod. They thank and pray for their blessings, and fire guns outside the house to celebrate. If there is a family with a poor harvest, the villagers will take the initiative to give some to help. During the festival, wine and banquets are set up, and people treat each other to share the joy of the harvest and the festival. Young men and women gather in the village to sing and dance.
