Dongjin, the ancient city "Lunzhi", is a pure handicraft passed down from generation to generation by Dong women through mothers, daughters and close relatives. The weaving skills of Dongjin have a long history of more than 2,000 years. It can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period, the primary stage of the self-sufficient agricultural economy of "men farming and women weaving". It has now become a living fossil showing China's "women weaving" culture. In 2008, the weaving skills of Dongjin were selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list in my country. Dongjin is divided into "plain brocade" and "colorful brocade". Plain brocade is woven with black and white cotton threads; colorful brocade is made of black and white threads and colored threads interwoven into flowers. Dongjin can also be divided into daily brocade, longevity brocade, and law brocade according to different uses. Among them, daily brocade is divided into 12 types of quilt covers, blankets, clothing fabrics, head scarves, straps, covers, leggings, etc. Longevity brocade is specially used to pad the coffin after the death of the elderly, and law brocade is specially used as a hanging list and a law blanket for priests to wear during sacrifices. Dong brocade is woven on a tilted loom. The warp is used as the base, the weft is used for weaving, and the warp and weft are woven. Generally, it has more than ten processes such as cotton ginning, spinning, dyeing, twisting, twisting, arranging warps, and brocade. Dong brocade is colorful, harmonious in color, with ethnic patterns, strange and changeable, and natural. It has a long history and high artistry. There are two types of patterns on Dong brocade: woven and embroidered; common patterns are herringbone, cross, mouth, zigzag, rice, swastika, etc., with birds, beasts, insects, fish, flowers, people, buildings, etc. as the main body, using generalization, abstraction and exaggeration to compose the picture, with precise and rigorous structure, exquisite and elegant patterns, and its content reflects the ancient myths and legends nurtured by nature, totem myths, daily life scenes in mountainous areas, and the Dong people's yearning for a better life. Dong women use brocade as a medium to display their intelligence and exquisite weaving skills, carrying and interpreting their nation's traditional culture with a long history, profound accumulation, rich connotation and distinctive characteristics, reflecting the Dong people's ideas, aesthetic tastes, cultural psychology of avoiding evil and seeking good, eliminating disasters and welcoming blessings, and pursuing harmonious coexistence of heaven and earth.
