Ningxiang Zhou's Double Dragon Dance was originally a dragon dance team organized by Zhou Dawu, a famous general of the Hunan Army in the Qing Dynasty, for his concubine Miss Yao to relieve boredom and entertainment. Later, it gradually evolved into a cultural and entertainment activity for local and surrounding areas during festivals. After more than a hundred years, it has been popular and is now mainly spread in Shijiawan, Daolin, and Huaminglou in Datunying, Ningxiang County. Zhou's Double Dragon has 9 sections each, and it takes more than 60 people to complete the performance. It integrates turning, flipping, spinning, and interweaving. There are both independent performance links with strong plots and intertwined movements between the dragons. The story is mixed, there are separations and combinations, and there are separations and combinations. The techniques are bizarre and can be called unique. It is rare in China. In 2009, with the approval of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, Ningxiang Zhou's Double Dragon Dance successfully applied for the second batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage list.
