The Tujia "Lantern Song, Flower Lantern, Dragon Boat Tune" is the most popular folk song and dance in the Baiyang area of Lichuan, and is an indispensable form of lantern song during festivals. During the performance, the ground is marked as a stage, and one person plays the role of the youngest sister, dressed in colorful clothes, lowering her eyebrows and posing, standing in the center of the boat. One person plays the role of a scholar, wearing a blue shirt and a silk scarf, holding a folding fan, and standing at the bow of the boat. One person plays the role of a maid, with a dovetail bun, dancing with a flower scarf, and standing at the side of the boat attentively. One person plays the role of a boatman, wearing a linen shirt and a hunchback, holding a paddle, and following the stern of the boat in a funny way. The band is generally composed of five people, who both accompany and sing. As the percussion instruments sound, the actors either dance with the boat or dance with the boat. Some people cheer and some sing in chorus. The sound of firecrackers and drums and music comes and goes, and the scene is very lively. Singing and dancing is a major feature of the "Lantern Song, Flower Lantern, Dragon Boat Tune". Lantern songs are moving songs when the actors dance and the accompaniment stops. The singing method is one person leading the others, usually the scholar leads the singing (sometimes the youngest sister leads the singing), and then everyone sings together. The tune is traditional and fixed. The lyrics have both traditional singing segments and can be improvised, one sentence at a time, or two sentences at a time. They are sung when the gongs and drums are played, and they are closed when the gongs and drums are played, which is convenient for both performance and transition. The supporting words of lantern songs are extremely rich and charming. Some of them set off the main words and add fuel to the flames, while others are closely related to the main words, especially some supporting words and sentences that are easy for the audience to participate in and are particularly provocative. One question is answered by many people or by mutual questions and answers, which integrates the hearts of the actors and the audience, and often pushes the performance to a climax again and again. There are still more than ten traditional lantern songs in Lichuan. They are not only traditional singing segments in lantern performances, but also the matrix of actors' improvisation. The Dragon Boat Tune, which originated from the Melon Planting Tune by Bo Yang, has been sung by singers such as Wang Yuzhen, Xie Lisi, Wang Jieshi, and Song Zuying. It has not only gained fame in China, but has also become one of the most widely spread outstanding folk songs in the world. (No pictures available, please provide them.)
