"Legend of Guan Yu" is the third batch of intangible cultural heritage list project announced by Hubei Province. Guan Yu is the most special figure in Chinese history, and he has a special process of evolving from a human to a god. Just as the couplet on the Guan Yu shrine in Longtang Temple, Shashi, Jingzhou, says: "Han made him a marquis, Song made him a king, Ming made him the great emperor; Confucianism called him a saint, Buddhism called him a Buddha, Taoism called him the celestial being", and a unique "Guan Gong culture" phenomenon has been formed in my country. The image of Guan Yu in "Legend of Guan Yu in Jingzhou" is mostly a great hero with great righteousness, and there are also legends such as Guan Yu subduing demons and eliminating monsters, which is due to its magical, interesting and wonderful nature. It also makes up for the lack of historical materials and literature on Guan Yu's deeds and Guan Gong's image. The content of Guan Yu legend can be divided into: deeds legend, folk legend, custom legend, scenic spot and place name legend, proverb, two-part allegorical saying, couplet, Guan Gong drama, etc. The legend of Guan Yu in Jingzhou has the unique regional characteristics of folk literature and the characteristics of a broad mass base, such as "Xijiashan", and has the national and holistic characteristics of folk literature, such as ", and has the humanized and deified characteristics of folk literature; such as "The Legend of Guan Yu Becoming the God of Wealth" and "Teaching Guan Ping", and has significant characteristics of national spirit cohesion, such as ". Guan Yu's loyalty and righteousness are highly respected by the ruling classes of all dynasties, his integrity is regarded as a creed by the business community, his courtesy, benevolence, and wisdom are respected as models of human relations by Confucianism, and his bravery is admired by the common people. This sense of identity of the entire Chinese nation has, in a certain sense, strengthened and condensed our national spirit. The most important value of Guan Gong culture lies in the common ethics and values of loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, courage, and courtesy of the Chinese nation.
