The Xinxiang Spring Sound Wheat Straw Craft Painting was designed and produced by Henan Arts and Crafts Master Chang Aiying using the three-dimensional painting ironing technology of wheat straw painting and innovative wheat straw painting techniques. The production of wheat straw painting makes full use of the natural luster and material of natural wheat straw to express the wind and rain of heaven and earth, flowers, birds, insects and fish, human landscapes, flowers and animals, etc., which are lifelike and ingenious. The completion of one of its works requires multiple processes such as cutting, bleaching, scraping, grinding, scalding, and smoking. The production is delicate and tedious, and the process is long and arduous. It is a test of the patience, perseverance and aesthetic ability of the maker. In 2006, the work "A Branch of Pear Blossoms in Spring with Rain" won the "World Outstanding Handicraft Badge" awarded by UNESCO, becoming the highest award for handicrafts in Henan Province.
