Zunhua iron painting, also known as Zunhua iron flower, was first popular in the imperial court of the Qing Dynasty. With the construction of the Eastern Qing Tombs, it began to flow into Zunhua Malanyu, and has a history of more than 300 years. The founder of Zunhua iron painting, which is listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list, is Hong Ri N, an outstanding artist during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Hong Ri N was originally from Shaoxing, Zhejiang. Emperor Kangxi asked the fourteenth prince Aixinjueluo Yun_ to guard the imperial mausoleum. Hong Ri N was also brought to Zunhua Malanyu by the fourteenth prince and settled in Zunhua Malanyu from then on. He boldly integrated the art of pen and ink into furnace hammer welding and created the iron painting that was famous for a time and was called a unique skill by Emperor Kangxi. "The skill is unprecedented in previous generations" is the only characteristic iron handicraft art of the Manchu people, and it has a history of more than 300 years. Since the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Zunhua Malanyu iron painting has become a unique product and is favored and loved by people from all walks of life. For many years, it has been the main product of domestic handicraft exports, selling well in Europe, America and the Middle East. Zunhua iron painting is made of tinplate and lead wire. It is made according to the process of cutting, folding, hammering, shaping, welding, baking paint, etc., drawing on the layout of Chinese painting, and absorbing the craftsmanship of folk paper-cutting, woodcutting, and filigree jewelry. In 2006, Zunhua iron painting was listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. Iron painting has clear black and white, clear outlines, bold and majestic, dense and dense lines, and elegant style. Iron painting has both the charm of Chinese painting in black and white, and the three-dimensional beauty of Western painting with distinct layers. Iron painting is a complete picture of semi-relief made by hot forging and cold working, kneading iron, which is "using hammer instead of pen and iron as painting", and has become an appreciation art work that can be painted independently. There are many types of iron painting, including wood and stone, beautiful mountains and rivers, flowers, birds, fish and insects. Anything that can be drawn on paper can be displayed in iron painting. At the National Arts and Crafts Exhibition in 1977, Zunhua iron paintings were unanimously praised. The famous poet Guo Moruo admired it very much and wrote the poem "Use iron materials to create beautiful pictures, and use iron will to create a great China". The Arts and Crafts Factory, also known as the Iron Painting Factory, was founded by - Jie. Since its skills were introduced from Beijing in 1973, it has been persisted for more than 10 years. It has created large-scale group paintings such as "Dream of Red Mansions", "Seven Fairies", "Spring Scenery", "Tigers Going Down the Mountain" and some flowers, birds, insects, fish, figures, ladies, landscapes, etc. Although the factory has stopped production, some works are still circulated among the people. Zunhua iron paintings are mainly inherited by the family, and have been passed down to the seventh generation. The seventh-generation inheritor Hong Xin, male, was born on August 2, 1969 in Malanyu Village, Malanyu Town, Zunhua City, which has a long history and profound cultural heritage. He learned iron painting production from his father since he was a child. Now he is the only inheritor of Zunhua Malanyu Iron Painting. At the age of 12, he learned painting and iron painting skills with his father Hong Zhijie. At the age of 18, he was sent to Dandong Taoyuan Art School for further studies. After graduating at the age of 21, he helped his father manage the iron painting industry in Malanyu, Zunhua, until now. Hong Xin not only inherited the ancestral skills, but also learned many traditional folk crafts such as traditional paper cutting, shadow puppetry, filigree, inlay, etc., integrated modern craft production concepts, and formed his own unique iron painting art style. His works are sold to Japan, Taiwan, Europe and the United States and other regions, and have been unanimously praised by the general public and friends at home and abroad. In 2006, Zunhua Malanyu Iron Painting was listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. In order to further increase its inheritance efforts, gradually expand its influence, and enable this intangible cultural heritage to develop better, the iron painting inheritors revitalized the iron painting workshop, liberated their minds, and opened up new ideas. At present, Hong Xin's apprentices are not only his own family members, but also people outside the family. This also laid a solid foundation for the better development of iron painting, an intangible cultural heritage. At present, Hong Xin has a total of five apprentices. The first disciple is Hong Jiawei, the second disciple is Zhao Junyan, the third disciple is Huang Yuhua, the fourth disciple is Liu Shuyun, and the fifth disciple is Guan Yun. In addition, in order to further expand the influence, Hong Xin has repeatedly conducted voluntary teaching and publicity in various schools, towns, and rural areas, and has also participated in provincial, municipal, and even national performances. In 1996, he was selected for the National Arts and Crafts Exhibition and won the Excellence Award. In 1997, he participated in the Guangzhou Arts and Crafts Fair and was recognized and praised at home and abroad. In 2000, he won the Excellence Award at the Millennium Art Exhibition. In June 2009, he participated in the Second Hebei Folk Culture Festival to celebrate the Fourth China "Cultural Heritage Day", and made positive contributions to the display and promotion of Hebei's intangible cultural heritage. He was awarded a certificate by the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture. In June 2010, he participated in the Third Hebei Folk Culture Festival. His main works include "Success at the First Attack", "Tiger Going Down the Mountain", "Childlike Fun", etc. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, he participated in the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Hebei Folk Culture Festivals, which were praised by people from all walks of life. He is now employed as an art design consultant by Zunhua Wei Yongli Metal Crafts Co., Ltd., and is directly involved in the design of various products of the company. On the basis of inheriting the traditional iron painting skills, he innovatively added gold, silver, copper and other elements to improve and process traditional iron paintings into modern craft metal paintings. So far, he has created more than 300 metal paintings.
