Weishui Village is located at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain. It is the seat of Jingxing County Government and has more than 6,000 villagers. Since ancient times, it has been a military stronghold and a battleground for military strategists. At the same time, it has also forged and cultivated the rural customs of Weishui people who respect literature and advocate martial arts. According to research, Weishui martial arts was born out of the ancient community fire activities of worshipping gods. In form, it is surrounded by a field accompanied by drums and music, and is practiced when villagers gather during temple fairs and festivals. The existing text of Weishui martial arts can be verified in the genealogy of the "Gao family" in the 23rd year of the Republic of China. During the Hongwu period of the early Ming Dynasty, Gao Gao, the ancestor of the Gao family, inherited the title of commander (orally passed down as the commander wearing a sword in front of the emperor's palace). After moving to Weishui, the family members who practiced literature and martial arts inherited it from generation to generation. Weishui martial arts is profound and rich in content. After hundreds of years of practice and inheritance, it has formed its own unique local characteristics. First of all, the performance program is unique in form. When performing outside, all weapons must be placed under the sky (sometimes under the gods of heaven and earth), burned with yellow paper, and the performers worship the weapons, then lift the big drum, and the drums and music will sound to the performance site to form a circle. First, run the formation. The form of the "formation" is eclectic, including the one-word long snake formation, the yin-yang eight trigrams formation, the nine palace formation, etc. After running the formation, the first scene is usually a three-section stick against a gun. Secondly, the martial arts routines are unique. There are Tongbei boxing, Water Margin boxing, oblique string boxing, black tiger boxing, rolling hammer, black wind boxing, Yanqing Eighteen Fans, big dragon shape, turning and rubbing feet boxing, sliding leg frame, twelve steps of spring legs, etc., as well as Tai Chi, Xingyi boxing, Bagua palm, Baji boxing, etc. In terms of equipment, single training routines include - big spear, eight spectrum spear, Qimei begging for food stick, cutting hand knife, Baibao chasing wind knife, twelve steps of tiger head hook, Qingping sword, - sword, double sword, etc. The third pairing routine is the most local and folk. If the weapons are broken, there must be bare-handed fighting. The bare-handed fighting methods include chaotic gloves, four-hand flip, walking fist, poking foot gloves, and flipping child gloves. The weapon fighting methods include three-section staff against gun, tiger-head hook against gun, bare-handed broadsword, three-section staff against three guns, etc. In recent years, due to the development of society, entertainment forms such as television, computers, movies, chess and cards have entered people's lives, causing many young people to lose interest in martial arts. Now there is only one street martial arts organization left. The inheritance and development cannot be ignored. Saving Weishui martial arts is imminent.
