Yifeng Song Family Double Lion Dance
Yifeng Songjia Double Lion Dance (third provincial level) According to Song Jiandao, the eleventh generation inheritor of the Songjia "Double Lion Dance", the "Double Lion Dance" of Songjia Village, Yifeng originated from the "Paper Lion Dance" of Chenpu, Songkou, Yongtai County, Fujian Province, also known as "Xingshi". It began in the Yuan Dynasty more than 700 years ago. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was introduced to Songjia Village, Xinzhuang, Yifeng by artists from Yongtai County, Fujian Province. The locals adapted to local conditions, integrated local culture, and combined with the characteristics of local dragon dance. The "single lion" performance first developed into a "double lion" performance, and improved the production process and shape. It has a history of more than 270 years. The purpose of the local lion dance is to eliminate disasters and exorcise evil spirits, pray for auspiciousness, harmony, and a good harvest, and it also has a strong "worship of gods" color. According to legend, the main god of the lion dance is the third prince of the Jade Emperor, called "Jiutian Fenghuoyuan Santian Du Yuanshuai", and there is also an entertainment god called "Zheng Erye". It is said that Zheng Erye particularly likes entertainment and is most afraid of crying. He can help others for fun. The lion dance team uses lion dance activities to perform worship activities in various temples and halls of each household to thank the gods for their gifts. In years of famine, the victims use "Xingshi" and lions as mascots to pray to the gods to exorcise evil spirits and eliminate disasters, and grant peace, which is their spiritual support. In the twelfth month of the lunar calendar every year, the lion dance team begins to prepare and rehearse, and begins to be invited to perform on the ninth day of the first lunar month, and continues until the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, the Lantern Festival. Before the Lantern Festival, the local people have already prepared to welcome the lion into their homes, and they must welcome the lion into their homes to dance for a while, especially for newlyweds and families with newly built houses, as well as families with unpleasant and unlucky things happening at home. They must welcome the lion into their homes and dance from room to room, in order to pray for the birth of a son soon, seek wealth and blessings, and exorcise evil spirits and eliminate disasters. When the Song family "Double Lion Dance" was introduced, the movements were extremely simple. It was not until the late 1960s that the performance movements of the Song family double lion dance were improved and innovated by the farmers of the village, such as Song Lanfang, from a single lion to a double lion, and developed from the original three and a half movements into nine sets of movements such as "colorful balls to lure lions", "double winds chasing the moon", "leading lions out of the cave", "fierce lions pouncing on food", "double lions in a chain", "carp shuttle", "flying balls in the air", "beads under the belly", and "double phoenixes facing the sun", giving them figurative names. During the performance, gongs and drums were loud, firecrackers were blasted, and the lion-leader waved a long-handled colored ball to lead the two lions out in the sound of drums and music, imitating the lions' movements of grabbing balls, pouncing on food, rolling, playing intimately with each other, dodging and moving, sitting, lying and standing upright, etc. The whole process was seamless and completed in one go, dazzling and dazzling. The Song family "Double Lion Dance" has a long history, strong and powerful movements, and nine sets of movements are seamlessly integrated, with distinct local characteristics and strong national and folk cultural characteristics.
