Yifeng Dragon Dance
Yifeng Dragon Dance is a traditional dance item in the first batch of representative items of municipal intangible cultural heritage. Yifeng Dragon Dance has a long history. It was recorded in historical books as early as the Han Dynasty. It belongs to the Chinese dragon dance series. It is a typical folk dance performance art that has been circulated in Yancheng. The dragon dance in Yancheng is especially famous for the Yandu Yifeng Dragon Dance. Both Yifeng and Beilonggang are located in the heart of the Lixiahe River. The river network is dense and the ditches and rivers are crisscrossed. It is a famous "pot bottom depression" within a radius of 100 miles. In the past 19 years, it has been attacked by floods. In order to pray for God to bless the weather and good harvests, Yifeng and Beilonggang people built the Dragon King Temple at the mouth of Longgang River during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty (it is documented that it has been more than 600 years since then). Every year, colorful dragons are danced when the temple fair is held to worship the Dragon King. A room is opened in the east wing of the Dragon King Temple to store colorful dragons. It is named "Wolong Room" and is still well preserved. This proves that Yifeng Dragon Dance has a history of more than 600 years. The shortest history in other towns is 100 years. Many villages have built Dragon King Temples one after another. They hold dragon dance activities every time they hold major sacrifices, temple fairs, lantern festivals or drought and flood years. Later, dragon dance activities were extended to major festivals such as the Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, February 2, and Mid-Autumn Festival. The dragon is compared to the "God of Good Fortune". Even ordinary people have to invite dragon dance teams to celebrate when they build houses and open shops. By the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Yifeng Dragon Dance had developed into five-color dragons, including yellow, white, green, red, and purple. This scale was maintained until the early days of liberation. The dragon dance in Yifeng, Yandu District, has remarkable characteristics, mainly represented by "Shenglong", "Wolong" and "Couple Dragons", each with distinct characteristics. They are distributed in the south, north and middle of Dazonghu Town. "Shenglong" and "Wolong" are located in Shuanglong Residential Committee, which is named after these two dragons. "Couple Dragons" are located in Xuchou Village at the southernmost end and Hongxing Village at the northernmost end. They are the elite among the many dragon dance teams in the town. They roll like a whirlwind, slow like a moving cloud, are fierce and vigorous, and are a combination of hardness and softness. They are unique in difficulty, novelty, strangeness and beauty. They have both the beauty of dance and the difficulty of acrobatics. The shapes are novel and the formations are peculiar. They give people a strong and brave momentum, and are also a pleasing pleasure. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
