Jing'an Nanshan Flower Drum (the fourth provincial level) Jing'an Nanshan Flower Drum mainly exists in Nanshan natural village of Chazishan Village, Duzhen, about 37 kilometers northwest of Jing'an County. There are continuous mountains and it is located in a remote area. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Hakkas such as Yang and He migrated here from Guangdong. It is impossible to find out whether Nanshan Flower Drum was introduced from the original place or learned from the local Hakkas after settling down. Nanshan Flower Drum is mainly based on Hakka cultural characteristics, and incorporates Fengyang Flower Drum elements. It consists of "playing flower drums", "participating in flowers", "singing flower lantern songs" and other contents. A "flower drum cage", 4 "flower pots", and 2 "lanterns" are made of paper. Among them, the "flower drum cage" symbolizes a drum, which is small at both ends and large in the middle. It is lit with wax candles and a pair of flower whips that mean drumsticks. The car lantern is an additional lantern. "Playing the Flower Drum" is performed by a male and female flower drummer, with more than 10 small programs such as "Rhinoceros Looking at the Moon" and "Crow Drying Wings"; "Sprinkling Flowers" is performed by 4 children, each holding a flower pot, marching in formation, such as "cross" and "double cross", and singing flower lantern songs while savouring flowers. The lyrics include "December Flowers, Happy New Year", etc., and there are 5 versions of the tune. Suona, flute and gongs and drums are used as accompaniment. At least 4 songs must be sung at each household, and "playing the flower drum" must be performed when drinking to congratulate the newlyweds and new houses. The lights can be lit on any day during the Spring Festival, but they must be lit on the 15th night of the first lunar month. Nanshan Flower Drum can be regarded as another "living fossil" of Han folk songs and dances. The melody is simple and catchy, mostly in the Zhengyu mode, and the performance form is lively and interesting. It has certain artistic value and folklore research value.
