Ganxian Cloud Lantern (the fourth batch of provincial level) Tiancun Cloud Lantern originated in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 200 years. It is mainly distributed in the Donghe area of Tiancun, Bailu, Nantang and other areas of Ganxian County. It is closely related to the "Ningxiu Class" of Donghe Opera in Tiancun. During the Spring Festival every year, everyone will beat gongs and drums and hold lanterns to pay New Year's greetings. In order to welcome the New Year, people hold signs with words such as "Congratulations on making a fortune and peace in all seasons" and make up as "Eight Immortals" to pay New Year's greetings to each family, which is deeply loved by the villagers. Every Spring Festival, the ancestral halls of each surname invite troupes to perform operas. According to the customs of Tiancun, the troupe cannot enter the ancestral hall to perform without lanterns. In order to change this situation, the old artists of the "Ningxiu Class" changed the "water flag" in the "Water Flooding Jinshan" of the traditional Donghe Opera "The Legend of the White Snake" into a "cloud card". Thus, the unique lantern art form of "cloud lantern" was formally formed. After liberation, due to various reasons, it was greatly damaged and slowly declined. Since the reform and opening up, the "cloud lantern", an excellent folk lantern, has been restored and valued. In 1984, the provincial and local art museums also conducted special videos. In 2001 and 2009, they also participated in the folk customs performances in Ganzhou area, and won the performance award, director award, music award, and excellent folk lantern award. Especially now with the development of the economy, the continuous improvement of people's living standards, and more urgent spiritual needs, the unique lantern art of "cloud lantern" has been further developed and strengthened. Now it is not limited to the cloud lantern performance team in rural areas. Several communities in the county have established cloud lantern performance teams. There are "cloud lantern" performance teams in all festive festivals, opening celebrations, large-scale festival activities, etc., so that this folk lantern can be carried forward.
