Ningdu Tea Picking Opera (Second Batch Provincial Level) Ningdu Tea Picking Opera was originally called "Dengzi Opera"; then "Sanjiaoban"; then "Banban" and "Banzhengza"; at the beginning of liberation, it was called "Ningdu Local Opera"; in 1955, it was called "Ningdu Tea Picking Opera" in accordance with the unified standard of Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Culture. It is a unique drama style from music, performance, language, repertoire to related customs. In 1955, it was listed as one of the 335 independent dramas in the country by the Ministry of Culture. Ningdu Tea Picking Opera was conceived in the middle of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 200 years. The inheritance and performance activities were the most prosperous from the liberation to the early 1960s. The performance activities of traditional repertoires were stopped during the "Cultural Revolution" and resumed in the 1980s. At present, the "Ningdu Tea Picking Song and Dance Troupe" and nearly 20 rural amateur troupes in various towns are performing activities, with nearly 200 traditional repertoires. Nearly 100 repertoires have been transplanted and hundreds of modern repertoires have been created. Its performance scope includes not only Ningdu County, but also the surrounding counties and cities of Ningdu County and many Hakka-populated areas in Guangdong and Fujian.
