Qingyang Opera Culture Qingyang Opera was formed during the Jiajing period (1522-1566) of the Ming Dynasty, when Yiyang Opera flowed into Qingyang County, Anhui Province, and combined with local opera vocalizations, local dialects, folk music, and religious music. It entered Hukou County, Jiangxi Province during the Jiajing, Longqing, and Wanli periods (1522-1610), and was introduced to Zhuangqian Pan Village, Liusi Town, and has been passed down to this day. The Qingyang Opera Troupe in the village rarely interrupted except for wars and turmoil in history. In the 1950s, Pan Kangquan (1925-1970), the representative inheritor of Qingyang Opera in the village, was selected to join the Provincial Gan Opera Troupe and became a famous actor. When performing at the National Art Auditorium, he was received by Premier Zhou Enlai and received awards, becoming famous for a while. Now, due to the passing of old artists, the lack of successors of Qingyang skills, the rural young people working away from home, leaving only the elderly and children at home and unable to perform, the ever-changing modern culture and life, which constantly impact and encroach on the living space of Qingyang Opera, and many other reasons, Qingyang Opera has shown a shrinking and landslide trend, seriously threatening its survival and extension, and facing the brink of extinction. In recent years, governments at all levels have taken rescue and protection measures, so that this ancient flower of opera art has regained its new life. In June 2006, it was approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and announced as the first batch of Jiangxi Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection List. At the same time, it was approved by the State Council and announced as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list. Now, during festivals, the traditional Qingyang Opera flying from the ancient opera house in the village reverberates among the green mountains and clear waters.
