Lixin County Qingyin Opera is spread on both sides of the Huaihe River, Xifei River and Wohe River. It originated from Anhui Qinshu. During the Republic of China, Gu Baokuan, an old Anhui Qinshu artist, based on the rhyme of Anhui Qinshu, absorbed local tunes such as Huagu Opera, Siju Tuizi, "Night Falling Gold Coins" and "Taiping Year", and created several modes for performing small operas, such as Dafeiban, Xiaofeiban, Manban, Kuaiban, Huaqiang, and Duzi. The main accompaniment instruments are banhu, erhu, sanxian, and zhuihu, and the performances are divided into Shengdan, Jingmo, and Chou, thus creating a small drama Qingyin Opera with strong local color that can be performed by small teams in small places. It was prosperous from the 1950s to the mid-1980s, and gradually declined in the 1990s due to lack of successors. Qingyin Opera is mainly inherited by the family, and has been passed down for two generations. The founder is still alive. Lixin County has compiled five episodes of the Qingyin opera "Five Women Paying Homage to Their Parents" and is passing on the skills to the newly established art rap group, hoping that the Qingyin opera can be revitalized in the cultural life of local people.
