Glutinous rice flower tea making technique
The craft of making glutinous rice flower tea is a traditional craft project in the second batch of representative projects of Lianyungang's municipal intangible cultural heritage. The birthplace of Lianyungang's tassel glutinous rice flower tea is Xiazhuang and Dongyawu Village in Sucheng Township, Beiyuntai Mountain. This tea is different from other teas. It is not artificially cultivated. It is a wild, pure and natural ancient tree species that grows naturally on cliffs. It is a specialty of our Yuntai Mountain Range. Sucheng Township now has tens of thousands of wild tassel glutinous rice flower tea trees, which are spread over hundreds of acres of mountain valleys and grow very vigorously. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that good tea comes from high mountains. Most of the tassel tea trees grow on the top of a mountain with an altitude of more than 400 meters, distributed in the cliffs and cracks with strange peaks and rocks, and deep gullies or oak soil slopes. The tassel tea tree is a pure wild deciduous tree, Oleaceae, sun-loving, shade-tolerant, drought-tolerant, often accompanied by stream water and acidic soil, and is often shrouded in clouds and mist, with dense branches and leaves, simple and natural. The hand-made production of Liusu glutinous rice flower tea is very particular and the technology is exquisite. The ancestral secret recipe is entirely based on perception. There are many mysteries hidden deep inside. Modern technology cannot replace it. Its unique quality style is "mellow taste, beautiful color, fragrant color, and clear liquid". This tea has a long history and has been passed down for thousands of years. As early as the Southern Song Dynasty, the monks and Taoists of Wudao Temple used the tender leaves of wild Liusu trees all over the mountains to make tea, and then transplanted the wild trees around the temple. According to historical records: "In the Ming Dynasty, there were more than 20 tea trees 500 meters above Wudao Temple, more than 20 feet high, with lush branches and leaves. Among them, there was a sturdy and tall one, known as the 'tea king'". Xiazhuang and Dongyawu Village in Sucheng are very close to Wudao Temple. The ancestors of the Xia and Shi families respected Buddhism and Taoism, and began to learn tea picking and making from mountain monks in the Ming Dynasty. In order to distinguish it from Wudao Temple tea, the Xia and Shi families named the tea "Liusu glutinous rice flower tea". Sucheng Township Liusu Glutinous Rice Flower Tea is known as the "best tea", comparable to the Wuyi small product 'Da Hong Pao'. For a long time, it has had a great influence at home and abroad and is deeply favored by people, especially by tea merchants in Japan and other countries, who regard Sucheng Liusu Glutinous Rice Flower Tea as an extremely rare green, environmentally friendly, and original ecological treasure. In 2007, the application for the national patent for Liusu Glutinous Rice Flower Tea was approved. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
