Gougunnao tea is a kind of green tea. Its origin is Tanghu Town, Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province. It is named after Gougunnao Mountain, which is shaped like a dog's head, more than 900 meters above sea level, with high mountains and dense forests, fertile soil, abundant rainfall, gurgling springs, and clouds and fog all year round. It not only has short sunshine, but also has a lot of scattered light, which is very conducive to the growth of tea trees and the tenderness of buds and leaves, and is free of any pollution. Its tea making technique began in the first year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1796 AD), more than 200 years ago. Gougunnao tea has unique tea making techniques, fine material selection, and exquisite craftsmanship. The original leaves are limited to tea trees planted in Gougunnao Mountain. There are also strict requirements for picking time and picking techniques. That is: it is harvested one week before Qingming Festival every year. The picking standards are one bud, one bud and one leaf just unfolding, one bud and one leaf unfolding, and some one bud and two leaves. When picking, hold the buds and leaves with your palm facing upwards, pinch them with your thumb and index finger, and gently pull them upwards and fold them. It is forbidden to pinch them with your fingernails to avoid red stems. It is also required not to pick leaves with dew, rainy days, or at noon on sunny days. The picked buds and leaves are gently placed in a bamboo basket, and then spread out in a ventilated, dry, clean room without foreign objects or odors, and without direct sunlight. They are then "spread out" and selected, and purple buds, single leaves, and fish leaves are removed. Traditional tea making techniques are all manual operations, and the requirements are very strict. After spreading out, there are six main processes: killing green, first kneading, second green, repeated kneading, shaping and lifting hair, and frying. The standard of the finished product is: the strips are tight like eyebrows, the color is green and moist, the soup color is bright and bright, the taste is mellow and sweet, and the fragrance is better than orchid. It can be said that it is bright and shiny at a glance, the fragrance is fragrant at a smell, and the sweetness is sweet at a drink. The elegant fragrance is intoxicating, refreshing and beneficial to thinking, and the effect is beautiful. Gougunnao Green Tea enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad for its noble quality. As early as 1915, it won the "Gold Medal of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition" in San Francisco, the United States; in 1930, it won the first prize of the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Specialty Products Joint Exhibition. In recent years, it has won numerous awards and obtained multiple certifications, becoming a well-known brand worthy of the name "International Famous Tea" (Gold Medal) and "Chinese Time-honored Brand". The county currently has a tea garden area of 3,600 hectares and a tea output value of 120 million yuan. The tea industry has become one of the pillar industries of the county economy, playing a major role in helping the people in mountainous areas get rid of poverty and become prosperous.
