Sijing Shijinxiluogu is a unique Han folk music formed by the wind and percussion artists in Sijing area of Shanghai who absorbed the characteristics of Kunqu opera and constantly polished it in the long-term performance process. It has a history of nearly 300 years and was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list in 2008. The history of Sijing Shijinxiluogu can be traced back to a long time ago. The ancient town of Sijing was formed into a village in the Northern Song Dynasty, named Huibo Village, and the town was built in the middle of the Yuan Dynasty. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, Sun Daoming, a Sijing resident, moved from the east of the county to the north of Sijing. During the Yuan and Yuan Dynasties, Tao Zongyi lived in seclusion in Sishuinan Village to avoid war and often gathered with a group of literati, leaving behind many excellent works, and Sijing culture was revived. After Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, the population increased sharply, the city became more and more developed, and the Han folk art flourished. The Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, July 15th Temple Fair, Xiaoqingban, and Dachangban are all doing well, and the sounds of stringed instruments and gongs and drums are heard everywhere. The artistic features of Sijing Shijinxiluogu are mainly gongs and drums. When playing, one person has to carry several instruments. After hitting the short gong and drum board, he can pick up the stringed instruments to play, alternating between them, and being versatile. In the use of musical instruments, the same gong and drum can produce different timbres and sound qualities due to different hitting methods, weights, and different landing points of the board. The knocking heads of the gong and drum stems are usually made of heavier wood materials, so the sound produced is short and dull, which is in line with the distinctive rhythmic characteristics of the Shijinxiluogu. What is particularly unique is that the knocking heads of the Shijinxiluo stems can be put on and taken off, and when playing, they are hit with a hammer, and the sound quality effect is unique.
